Does this actual case reflect the conceptual model well? Compare the ideal configuration!
The position of the Vertical Cross Section is indicated in the following image:
The Barrage Cloud south of the Alps is associated with high values of relative humidity in the lower levels (850 hPa). However, this vertical cross section from the global model does not differentiate clearly between the South and North of the Alps. For such mesoscale to small scale features a LAM model would deliver better results.
The field of divergence is very weak. It shows very weak negative values (convergence) at middle levels in the area of the Barrage Cloud. The inability of the global model to resolve fine structures of this parameter must also be taken into account.
Vertical Motion (Omega):
For vertical motion the same is true as for the other parameters. The global model does not contain any important features of the Barrage Cloud. On the contrary, there is even sinking motion in low and middle levels in the area of the Barrage Cloud.
