Cyclogenesis started in Gulf of Genoa. The cold advection from the north-west, at the front side of the big upper level ridge, playing
an important role in the process. The north-westerly flow also caused the strong wind at the surface. The center of cyclone moved toward
the South Italy and very soon dissipating.
The Meteosat 8 RGB composite showed the well developed cyclone in Gulf of Genoa with cloud structure over Western Mediterranean which
indicated the strong north-westerly flow. The bluish colours (turquoise) is related with high level iced clouds which are over the low level
water clouds (grey colours). The cellular cloudiness at the rear side of the cyclone indicate the cold air advection.
